Another success at Photowalk Pasadena, CA!

Thanks to everyone who made it to the photowalk last Sunday! It was great to meet you all. This time, 4 of us started the walk and 1 more friend joined us about 1/2 hour into it. It was pretty warm that day and I expect the next few walks will be the same. I'll advise people to bring at least one water bottle on the next walk. This time we stopped in and cooled down at a Jamba juice at about the halfway mark and at the end of the day we grabbed some food at the Holly Street Bar and Grill where they managed to cook up some burgers for us, even if it was after lunch hours. :)

Just before the walk I printed some maps from the Pasadena Visitors and Convention Bureau (http://map.mapnetwork.com/destination/pasadena/) We covered a small area bordered by South Arroyo Parkway & Los Robles (west to east) and Holly St. & Green St. (north to south).

Photos are up on our Flickr Group page now. If you were on the walk, don't forget to join up, so that we can see some of your great shots!

There is a Gold Line station here and also some parking garages in the area. The day rate is fairly reasonable around here because they like to encourage shoppers to stick around. We'll definitely swing by City Hall and some sculptures in Old Town. The route plan is usually sketched out as we go, but if you have any ideas for places you think we should not miss, please send them and we'll incorporate them if possible. Look for us in the parking lot area off of Holly Street.

We'll walk around Old Town for about 2 hours, ending again at a local restaurant/bar where we can cool down and have some drinks.

We have a flickr group available for all to share photos after the walk.

Comment here or join our facebook group if you plan to attend.

Photowalk Downtown L.A. was a success!

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the photowalk last Saturday. It was great to meet you all. 5 of us started the walk and 2 more friends of mine joined us about an hour into it. I consider this a good group for the first time out because it was manageable in size. We didn't lose anyone and maintained a good pace throughout.

Just before the walk I printed some very clearly labeled maps from this very handy website: http://dcbid.cartifactmaps.com/ It turned out to be an invaluable tool. We covered a pretty good area bordered by Hope Street & Broadway (west to east) and 1st & 5th (north to south).

Photos are up on our Flickr Group page now. If you were on the walk, don't forget to join up, so that we can see some of your great shots!

Everyone has a different photographic eye and there are many things to photograph in downtown: historic buildings, sculptures, museums, theaters, street vendors, pedestrians, etc. Look for us in the grassy area holding a bunch of cameras. We'll walk around downtown for about 2 hours, ending at a local restaurant/bar where we can cool down and have some drinks.

We have a flickr group available for all to share photos after the walk.

We're currently sketching out a route plan. If you have any suggestions, please send them and we'll try to incorporate them if possible.
